Great Quality and Great Price
I’m very pleased with my purchase from Health Plus. I’ve not ordered from them prior to this purchase, however I’ve been using Psyllium Husk as an addition to my KETO/Low-Carb diet for years. Previously, I’d ordered the Yerba Prima brand, which was out of stock when I ran out, giving me a chance to try some new things! I was pleased at the pricing (.71/ounce), which is highly competitive here compared to other offerings. In fact, when purchasing this, only way to save more than this would be to purchase 24 vs. 12 oz. and I didn’t see the need to have large quantities of Psyllium around to save a few pennies. Additionally, the lack of packaging was appealing as I have enough containers to put things in and too many things have containers to begin with, generally adding additional cost to produce something which generally gets thrown away if not repurposed.I did notice how this lists one carb per serving, compared to the Yerba Prima and other brands, however the other Psyllium products appear to list out and subtract insoluble fiber. One carb didn’t freak me out, despite limiting my carbohydrate count to 25 grams a day. Additionally, my ketosis pee sticks haven’t shown any difference and I still feel great, so that’s testament enough for me!I like to take the loose psyllium vs. the capsules, which I’d begun with for convenience, as all the capsule versions I’ve seen tend to have additiocnal excipients such as magnesium stearate and/or silicon dioxide, and believe it or not, I’ve had weird gastrointestinal issues at times with mag stearate and consistently recognize an increased resting heart rate (measured with Fitbit Surge tracker) whenever I add products that include silicon dioxide, though that’s my experience and your mileage may vary.Basically, I mix this with water and drink it right away. If doing a detox, I may increase the amount and/or include different herbs or supplements with the mix and do a quick stir with my handheld frother. If you need one, I highly recommend the Kemuse Stainless Steel Electric Milk Frother & Brush with Standing Base – One Touch Handheld Milk Frother – Battery Operated Electric Foam Maker For Coffee, Latte, Hot Chocolate, Cappuccino currently listed at only $7.50. IF you use a frother, MAKE SURE to wash it immediately after use, or the psyllium can expand and get stuck in it. Alternately, you could simply use a spoon too.There’s many uses to Psyllium in addition to simply taking it to increase dietary fiber. I’ve used this with smashed up pork rinds to make KETO friendly hamburger buns and am continuing to experiment with it for creative recipes allowing me to keep deliciousness up and carb count down.I’d be amiss to not mention the obvious, which many people are looking for with Psyllium products, that this helps keep things regular in the #2 department. Additionally, as a KETO dieter, certain foods and supplements consumed, like lots of MCT Oil and/or BHB Salts can increase liquid output in a most uncomfortable way without psyllium, as I’ve unfortunately experienced through direct knowledge.The bag lasts a nice long time and planning to re-order soon as mine runs out.

A coarser grind than some
I like the texture of this brand psyllium, which seems to be less gummy and works better for me than other brands I’ve tried. Just 1 tablespoon per day has made a tremendous difference in my regularity. Has no taste or odor. I find it pleasant to take in a cup of hot tea every morning. High quality product.

I usually use Trader Joes Secrets of Psyllium but bought this because it priced a little lower. It does the job, but it affects my system differently then Trader Joes. I will probably stick with Trader Joes from now on.

I wasn’t happy this psyllium was dark in color and inconsistent in texture, I like the lighter colored ones I have bought in the past which sadly are not currently available.
