Makes healthy simple and easy!
I checked this book out of the library and loved it so much I had to buy it! Great recipes and the way she explains healthy eating is straightforward, simple and inspiring! We’ve tried several of the recipes that are now staples in our house and there’s still so many more we want to try! I especially love the section at the beginning, it’s more than a recipe book, it’s like having a friend encouraging you along the journey to a healthier lifestyle!

My current kitchen bible!
This book is absolutely amazing! Iâm 39 and have struggled with my weight my entire adult life. Iâve yo-yoâd from 137 to 212 and back and back and back again. I did keto back in 2017 and it worked fabulously. But I was eating nothing but beef and bacon thinking it was fine, because hey, keto. However, I was eating âdirtyâ and wasnât receiving the nutrients my body needed to thrive. And, just like every other fad diet, itâs impossible to maintain and I gained back all the weight I lost and then some.I finally made a conscious decision to stop with dieting and to start eating clean and healthy, which I knew would be best for my body and my overall well-being and also easy to maintain as an actual lifestyle. However, I had no idea how to go about doing so or even where to begin. So I decided to scour Amazon and thankfully I found this book. It is now a part of my everyday cooking. Iâll admit Iâm only on week two of incorporating these meals into my life, but I havenât felt this good in ages. No more processed foods or refined sugar. Just organic, clean, and delicious goodies from now on. And no more of that dreadful âketo fluâ either 𤮠Iâve also found the recipes Iâve tried so far to be fairly easy. There are definitely some specialty ingredients youâll need (coconut aminos, arrowroot flour etc) which might be hard to find in stores, but Iâve had no problem finding them here on Amazon. Theyâre not all necessarily âcheapâ, but for me personally, itâs worth it.With all this being said, Iâd like to add two things-1. I despise the instapot. Had one, hated it, trashed it. So if youâre like me in that aspect, just know that youâll have to do a bit of researching and/or tweaking in order to make a few of the recipes offered in the book. But donât let that discourage you. Most of the recipes donât call for an instapot. I do recommend getting an air fryer, though.2. If you make the ranch dressing, which I just love, be sure to let it sit in the fridge over night before using. Otherwise youâll taste nothing but avocado oil. Or, if you need it right away, you could maybe try cutting the oil by 1/4 and increasing the sour cream by 1/8-1/4.Anywho, I hope this review is helpful and that more people are able to enjoy these foods as much as I and my family do. Happy healthy eating, yâall!

All the meals are delicious and teenager approved!
I HATE cooking! Like hate it with a passion. If cooking required more than opening a few cans or throwing a frozen pizza in the oven than I didnât âcookâ. Our family of 5 (teenagers 16, 15 & 13) dinned out 5 to 6 days per week. Hubby got me the Instant Loss books and a 8qt instant pot for Christmas in hopes to give me a little push. I have an autoimmune disease and my inflammation markers have been high for years. I told him I wanted to give the whole plant based lifestyle a try. So on 01/01/2020 I took extreme measures cleaning out the fridge and pantry. Anything that wasnât on Brittanyâs recipe lists were discarded. I know cook breakfast/lunch/dinner from stretch using recipes from IL book. My favorite thing is this book comes with weekly meal plans and all the ingredients are repeated through out recipes – so I am not stuck with a bag of Garbanzo Bean flour that I only used for one meal. I also love that the recipes are easy to follow and Brittany gives substitutes and most take less than 30 mins to make. Itâs been 24 days cooking only from the book and my inflammation markers are the lowest they have been in over 6 years, we have more energy, less age related aches and pains, AND theTeenagers moods have improved. Instant Loss: Eat Real, Lose Weight have been a game changer for me in the kitchen.

Eat healthy food thatâs easy to make!
A friend recommended this book for the delicious recipes. I decided to try it for 28 days. I wasnât sure if I could keep up on the âcleanâ food prep and cooking but I love a good challenge. I was a bit overwhelmed in the beginning. One thing I wish this book had was a grocery list. However, I managed to pull it together, get the groceries and attack the meal plan for week 1. You do not have to do the meal plan, but there are 4 weeks included so I decided to do it. Here are my thoughts-Cons- no grocery listNeed lots of kitchen equipment to be successfulNo alternate directions for many of the recipesNo nutrition listedSome recipes donât have a serving sizePros- delicious foodLots of recipesMeal plansSuggestions on how to make things allergy/dairy freeMost are quickOnce a week prep suggestionsI had most of the kitchen equipment. But, youâll want an instapot and good blender to start. An immersion blender and air fryer are also suggested. I didnât have a Bundt pan for the instapot, so I adapted the pictured recipe for the oven. It was easy peasy. So you may need make some adaptations. I look up calories by tracking in an app. I know the author says itâs not needed, but for me it is. Itâs a little cumbersome to have to load all the ingredients in an app every time I make something just for nutrition info. But, itâs worth it because the food is good. I also noticed on some recipes a serving size is not suggested. This is mainly dips and things of that nature. It would be nice if they were included. Food takes me just a few minutes to prepare. It took roughly 3 hours in a messy kitchen with no idea what I was doing to meal prep for week 1. I am convinced I could do the same thing in half the time now that I get what to do. So far, Iâve made 16 meals/snacks.Overall, I love it! I will continue my 28 day cooking streak and probably but her 1st cookbook too. Pictured is my adapted oven baked cinnamon-walnut breakfast cake.
